{ R O S E } backdrop

About three weeks ago I crafted a back drop for my friend’s baby shower.  Simple backdrop for a fun photo booth.  Stay tune for some photo booth memories with this backdrop.  YUP, DIY crepe paper flowers and crepe paper streamers. Simple + Chic.

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is filled with great plans.

Jasmine + Green { I C E } Tea

The heat calls for ice tea.  Choice of drink for the Fiesta Friday! Many like the taste of sweet tea…I on the other hand love my tea with a tad bit of sugar or none at all with a splash of lemon squirt.  I feel refreshed and cooled down after.  Might as well go the healthy way since  I am sipping on my loaded cup of antioxidant.  If I had to choose a third favorite type of tea it would be GREEN tea.

What is your favorite flavor or combination of ice tea?  Please share.  Toodles until next post.

{ D O O D L E S } itch.

As of late I have been having a doodle itch and working on some gifts. Late birthday gifts of you will.

Here is a doodle of flowers and some hand drawn type. I love scribbling away with different typographies!

A reminder to never stop learning because there is so much to learn about! I have no excuse to be bored because I can keep learning away and I encourage you to do the same. What do ya think? Like it? Hope your Wednesday is going well.

{ E G G } Pie Recipe.

On Sunday I woke up feeling in between rested and unrested.  My SO sure was unrested.  Weeks and weeks of trying to out beat these allergies is exhausting.  We have yet to conquer what would be the solution besides avoid the allergen.  Pet dander, pollens, dust, etc ohhh my impossible to avoid em.  They are everywhere!  Exhaustion is what runs through my mind and all the while thinking of something to cook you know I threw stuff together that was already in the fridge.  The EGG pie came to mind.  I needed something filling and simple because I have to get back to crafting because Savannah’s 3rd birthday is around the corner.  I need protein to keep me going to finish these crafts for her big day.  In the mean while here is a recipe for you to enjoy.  Such a perfect and simple way to start a brunch party with this pie!

Have a great Tuesday. Toodles until next post.

My { W R I T I N G } Process Blog Tour & { H E A R T } Confetti.

Olga at The Ocean View Kitchen nominated me for this blog tour.  I was astounded and told her YES I will be more than happy to participate and the participation is simple as can be.  Thank you so much for inviting me to this blog tour Olga.   You are amazing yourself with your blog.  I am so glad we linked through Fiesta Party that was started by our lovely Angie at The Novice Gardener!  The writing process blog tour is a way to get bloggers to know other bloggers better. The way it works as you are invited by a fellow blogger to answer 4 questions and then you invite another three bloggers to participate.

My answers to the {FOUR} questions:

1} What am I working on?  As of late I have been crafting up some crafts for Savannah’s 3rd birthday FROZEN theme party.  I have about a few days left to complete this.  Below is a glimpse of one of the craft.

2} How does my work differ from others of its genre?  My work differs from others because it is my perspective of creativity in the craft, cooking, and photography.

3} Why do I write what I do?  I enjoy sharing my perspective of cooking and crafting in the most simplest way I can. I have family and friends who ask me how to make a certain “entree” I cook so I thought it would be great to start documenting them on my blog for my friends and family to reference back to.  I use to go onto others’ blog and I felt like simplicity was missing.  So this helped me to shape and create my ideas and recipes to the most simplest perspective I can for others to experience if they dare to try!

4} How does your writing process work?  My writing process is surrounded by what is currently happening in my life.  Rather it is cooking, crafting, or just a simple photography session with my lovelies.  The inspirations usually branch off of other recipes or crafts.  Most of the time the recipe or craft is a blend of two different ones with mine.  Great to create because you can create freely with no boundaries.  I then capture those moments and fancy it up with some fonts through Illustrator.

Who is {NEXT} ?

1} Patty- Patty Nguyen  Every post, every photo is such an eye grasper and her little Bailey is just so oh adorable.

2} Ngan- Ngan made it– Not only are her photos amazing, the recipes are salivating type of recipes.

3}Tracy –Scratch it Cook– Make them from scratch!  I especially love her DIY vanilla extract.

Check out these ladies’ blogs.  You won’t regret it. I can’t wait to hear from you ladies next week. =)

The heart confetti is done and ready to be thrown for celebration!  My co-worker put in a custom order for me to craft some goodies for Savannah’s Frozen theme party.  What a cute movie… YES it made it to my favorite list as well!  If you saw the movie you would understand why these glittered heart confetti is a MUST!  I have been crafting my heart away.  Happy Monday and Happy Birthday to my big sis!!!

Dillan’s { F I R S T } birthday!

Today is my youngest nephews 1st birthday celebration.  A year ago when he arrived it was too early and he was fighting to survive.  We were praying to the Lord to help us through what ever He had planned.  Yes, we prayed day and night for the Lord to let our little Dillan survive and make it through.  He did, what a warrior!  He was then a size that can fit into a palm and now he is a healthy chubby 1 year old who.  A little mini me of my brother— a picky eater, makes loud sounds to get someone’s attention to get him what he wants, and heart melter.  Since auntie is miles and miles away I made this banner to celebrate your 1 year milestone.  We are blessed the Lord planned for you to continue on and to bring joy and smiles into our lives.  My Dill Dill is a fighter and we will not forget any step he takes as the Lord has a plan.  Today’s post is for my little Dillan.

{ T W O } more weeks.

Two more weeks til summer and it isn’t summer without my glass of red wine and brie.  Please don’t mind me as I start early.  The sun scorching its heat here in Oregon early has already set my mind on summer mode.  First time trying the Parisian Style Brie and I am quite satisfied.  Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

{ D O U G H N U T } day!

Happy National doughnut day! Yes, i had to stop here and got my free doughnut. Stop by and get yours. 🙂

I am totally a glazed doughnut type of gal. Stepped outside my box today as my co-worker dared me to. Powered strawberry filled was the choice for the day! Happy friday. My cheat snack for the week.

Be sure to join Fiesta Friday! Here is how to join!

{ S U M M E R } thoughts.

The weather has been awfully nice here in Portland, OR and I feel like its already summer.  Thoughts of the Summer is dwelling in my mind.  A few weekends ago my SO and I were taking maternity photos for our friends at Cathedral Park.  Bubbles were in the air and it wasn’t teeny tiny ones, they were humongous!  We looked over to our right and there was this guy in the park creating these gigantic bubbles with two simple sticks, ropes, and a bucket of water soap.  We couldn’t help and join in on the fun!  What a simple creation of great fun.  I was guilty of feeling like a kid again and so was my SO and our friends.  Honestly,  I haven’t had such simple fun like this in quite a while.  I mean the photos say it all.  My SO snap some photos of me grinning from ear to ear.

I hope to recreate this moment with my nephews some day.  I couldn’t help and think of how much fun they would have along with my siblings joining in on the fun while I snap away!  A big bubble festival right in our backyard.  I can’t wait!

BUBBLES at Cathedral PARK_

I explored making gigantic strings of bubbles.  Sooo much fun.

Sometimes you just have to drop your busy schedule and go be a kid so you can smile ear to ear.  All photos shot by my SO.  I hope you enjoyed your Wednesday and preparing for a better day tomorrow!  Toodles.

My answers to the 11 Questions asked by my Nominator.

  1. What’s a day in your life? Take your time…paint a picture for us.  Everyday is quite different from one another and this is a picture of what would be close to my       everyday life. I typically start with a cup of tea- specifically Jasmine or Earl Grey Black tea. The bulk of my day I am a nurse providing care to patients. After my shift, I cook to wind down—one of my outlet to zone out and just relax as I am cooking away. More than likely I am ending my day with crafting a bit and blogging before preparing for the next workday.
  1. If you could only keep one piece, what piece of clothing in your closet, what would it be and why? I think narrowing anything down to one item is difficult as I am a person who likes varieties—especially when it comes to clothing articles. One piece—I would immediately pick my long maxi dress because it is comfortable, saves me from the days I forget to shave, and light enough that I won’t be too hot.
  1. Do you prefer music or books? Why?  Honestly, I am torn between the two. Music is associated with a story and also a memory when the song was released. It has meanings that are different to every being. Books contain so much information a person can learn rather it is to create something, tell a story, or even share an experience—it is invaluable.
  2. What’s something you’d secretly like to wear but haven’t worked the courage up to try it? There is nothing on my list right now that I secretly want to wear. If you asked me this question about 2 years ago I would have said RED LIPSTICK. I use to feel that it brought too much attention to my lips and was a bit timid about trying it. After years of admiring it on other ladies, I finally worked up the courage to try it. That day I walked into Nordstrom, asked the makeup artist at the MAC station to help me pick out a shade of red and BAM…I am now and forever in love with it.
  3. What are 3 guilty pleasures of yours? One} I binge on chocolate every now and than even knowing it is bad for me. Two} A sneaker addict who does not need more shoes. Three} Craft even if there is no reason to just because I enjoy creating.
  4. What are 3 bad habits of yours? One} I take care of others before myself. Two} I take plenty of photos for a blog post when I know I will only use 2 or 3 them. Three} I squeeze the toothpaste from the top of the tube rather than the bottom and it drives my SO up the wall.
  5. What post would you re-do if you could? Link to it. Croissant-egg-sandwich post.
  6. When you take pictures for your blog, do you already have a concept in mind or are you kind of winging it? Yes, most of the time I do have a concept in mind before I take photos for my each post. There are times I feel that when I play it by ear the creativity just flows with freedom and I have more fun than I intended.
  1. What are the ways you drive engagement within your blog? The way I share my perspective of crafts and recipes.
  2. What do you find is the optimal posting time? I find the optimal posting time is between 7-9 am as most people are starting their day with coffee and browsing through their favorite bloggers page.
  3. What message do you want people who read your blog to take away? Life is as simple as you want to make it. Your passions will be your drive to complete the things that are most important and enjoyable to you.
